Andrea Helen Craig
May 5, 1944 - January 6, 2016
Andrea Helen Craig, née Mclaren, passed away in her home on the 6th of January, 2016 in Dublin, CA due to complications following heart failure. She was 71. Andrea was born in May of 1944 to her parents Guy and Helen McLaren in Hayward, CA. She was bright and lively, she loved to dance, and she was adamant about putting others first before herself. She attended Hayward High School as a stellar student where she met and soon after married the father of her three children, Michael Craig. Soon after, she began her career at Fairchild Semiconductor in San Jose where she was notably on a poster ad. Her success in high school later transitioned to degrees in Business from Heald College and Accounting from Ohlone College. Andrea worked as a Director for the Department of Homeland Security in the U.S. Customs and Border Protection handling Seizures and Forfeitures until her retirement in August of 2015. Andrea loved to travel, and some of her notable travels include visits to Alaska and England. She especially enjoyed the arts, and collected delicate dolls. Andrea loved all animals and later became more acquainted with horses. Andrea was an avid reader, enjoying many genres but mysteries in particular. Her closest family members would best describe her as a "cheerleader" and loved to see her children and grandchildren reach success in all different aspects. Andrea is survived by her brother, Bruce McLaren, her daughter Janet Craig, her daughter Elise Wilson and son-in-law Greg Wilson, and her son James Craig and daughter-in-law Ma Divina Craig, and her three grandchildren, Katrina, Patrick, and Christina. “If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together.. there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart...I'll always be with you.” - A.A. Milne
