Joan Angela Pavlu
September 9, 1944 - May 19, 2013
Joan Angela Pavlu passed away a short 16 days after receiving a diagnosis of terminal cancer. As was expected, she faced her condition with dignity, choosing to be cared for at home under the guidance of her daughter Dawn, a critical-care and palliative care nurse practitioner, with the assistance of the wonderful people at Hope Hospice. While 16 days left them little time to prepare, it did give the family a priceless opportunity to spend a lot of time with her, both individually and as a family. The family wishes to say that the support they received from everyone made a big, positive, difference in their lives. And they ask that you please "pay it forward" with an act of kindness, compassion, or love in memory of her. In that way, Joan will not only continue to live on within our hearts, but through the kindnesses you bestow on others. A reception with food, soft drinks, wine & beer, will be served immediately following the memorial service. Please bring your favorite wine or beer. Please do not send flowers to the house. Flowers can be brought to the memorial service, however, in lieu of flowers, Mom had asked that donations be made to Hope Hospice: Hope Hospice http://www.hopehospice.com/home.html "Make a Donation" URL: http://www.hopehospice.com/donation.html
