Juan T. Solis

January 27, 1931 - January 23, 2012

Juan T. Solis passed on peacefully on January 23, 2012 at dawn, after a gradual decline in health. He was surrounded with and supported by the love and care of family and friends until the end. Juan was born on January 27, 1931 in Bayambang, Pangasinan, Philippines. In this rural setting, he grew up, received his education, and raised his own family with his wife, Nemesiana. They both worked as elementary school teachers, with Juan eventually becoming a school principal. When all five of their children finished their college education, they retired and immigrated to the United States to join their eldest daughter in California, where they have lived since. Juan is survived by his wife; five children and their spouses: Mariles and Robert Magalong, Flordizel and Victor Zafaralla, Mara Jane and Domingo Garrido, Winnie and Eva, and Lyndon and Madelaine; and twelve grandchildren: Ryan, Mark, Jan, Trisha, Immanuel, Iana, Randel, Aira, Ronnel, Jonas, Karenz, and Kiara. Juan is also survived by his brother Rudy, sister-in-law, Minas, and several cousins, nephews, nieces, and other relatives.
