Peg Alice Lofland
February 27, 1925 - July 25, 2010
Peg was born in Brooklyn, New York and died peacefully with her 3 children visiting with her on her final day. As a young adult she traveled to Hawaii where she was a "Rosie the Riveter" working on airplanes. She met her husband Johnson (Bud) James Lofland (the fifth). Bud, a survivor of the Pearl Harbor Attack, and Peg were married in Hawaii in 1945, she was widowed in 1996. Peg loved the ocean and the entire family spent many days at Hermosa and Oxnard Beaches in Southern California. Peg was very health conscious and was a pioneer in organic foods and started her own Food Co-op in the 1960's. A respected former dancer and choreographer, she taught Belly Dance in the community, and on television. Peg also believed in Spiritual Healing and self-understanding and instructed & consulted groups of people. She and Bud very much enjoyed following their daughter Dana at LPGA tournaments around the country. Peg was a loving mother and beloved grandmother. She is survived by her three children and their families: Dana Dormann (John) grandsons William (15) and Jason (9); Blaise Lofland (Amy) granddaughters Jacinda (21) and Kelsie (19), all of Pleasanton; Wendy Lofland (Geoff Dann) grandchildren Sonae (22), Keelan (17) and Akira (14) all of Ventura. Peg is also survived by her sister Jeanne Igneri and family of Atlantic Beach, New York. Services will be for immediate family. Peg would have asked that any donations be made to your own favorite charity.
